Lucy from attic 24 has designed a beautiful striped blanket inspired by the colours of dried hydrangea flowers. I designed these little hanging decorations to add some colourful homespun hooky goodness to my christmas tree this season but there s no reason why they can t be used all year round and in all sorts of ways. Despite the complex look of the stitch pattern i promise you this is very easy crochet using two simple stitches to create a series of stacking shells.

Hi lucy your blog was the very first i ever visited when i fell in love with crochet all over again as an adult. I created this pretty stripe pattern especially for my dune blanket as the colours are inspired by coastal sand dunes and the pleasure of walking the breezy shoreline collecting shells. I initially made these flowers to illustrate the yarny colour palette which i put together to make my hydrangea inspired striped blanket but once i started making them i got.
