Mac af4ps fp 51 note.
Attic folded dipole.
Bend the wires as much as necessary to make the dipole fit into the available space.
This was installed at a previous qth i will be the first or millionth remember i m from fl to affirm that the antenna is the determining factor for success when it comes to one s station set up.
We start with bending the endsof an ordinary center fed dipole limited by an attic garden wall etc.
Don t worry if you lack the room to run the dipole in a straight line.
The better your antenna the more success you will have making contacts.
For example you can install a wire dipole in almost any attic space.
If the attic area is not large enough to accommodate an almost full size dipole simply erect as much of the antenna as possible in a straight line then bend the ends of the dipole up down or sideways from the main portion of the system.
Upand down side to side.
It gave me 40 20 and 15 with a push because although a 40 meter dipole should give you a resonant 15 meter antenna in this case with the coils for 40 it mucked the maths up and caused the atu some trouble.
Or to reduce turning radius.
It is possible to test tune the antenna by folding the ends of the legs back on themselves but in my case the antenna was built using copper weld wire and aircraft anstad type insulators which are apparently quite a pain in the butt to work with.
For a platform without rules and restrictions check out this upcoming goodness.
Hidden attic dipole antenna installation.
You should attempt to maintain symmetry in the system by bending the ends of the antenna in equal amounts.
The infamous attic dipole.
Https bit ly 2vfpkpq all ham radio content moved to new channel.
I was advised.
Then folding the endsback part way or into triangles.
Attics are great locations for indoor antennas.
The 40 meter dipole was loaded with some coils so that i could fit it in the attic.
An attic coaxial cable trap dipole for 10 15 20 30 40 and 80 meters.
On 40m it worked a treat.
